1. Washing Tips
When washing knitwear, it's crucial to understand a few key points to prevent shrinkage or deformation. Choose an appropriate detergent and water temperature, and use a gentle washing method. Before soaking, gently shake off any dust, and you can add acetic acid to the water to protect the color. Gentle rubbing and rinsing are essential to prevent shrinkage.

Before washing, gently shake off any dust, then soak the knitwear in cold water for about 10-15 minutes. Afterward, remove the knitwear, wring out the water, and then gently rub it in a solution of laundry detergent or soap flakes. To preserve the color of the yarn, you can add 2% acetic acid (or vinegar) to the water to neutralize any residual soap. This significantly reduces the likelihood of the knitwear shrinking after washing. If dark-colored knitwear gets dusty, you can use a damp sponge to gently wipe it.

A practical washing method is to wash knitwear with tea water. This method not only effectively removes dust but also prevents knitwear from deforming after washing, while preserving the original color of the yarn and extending its lifespan. Tea water can also be used to prevent deformation. The specific method is: steep an appropriate amount of tea leaves in a basin of boiling water. After the water cools, filter out the tea leaves. Soak the knitwear (or yarn) in the tea water for about 15 minutes, then gently rub it several times, and rinse it clean with water.

If a white knitwear gradually turns black after prolonged wear, you can try washing it and then freezing it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. However, please note that this method may cause the knitwear to stretch after washing, so it is recommended to remove it, air dry it, and then wash it again to ensure it returns to its original whiteness.

2. Drying Tips When drying knitwear, pay attention to several key points to ensure its shape and color are properly preserved. Choose a cool, well-ventilated place to dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Knitwear should not be hung for extended periods to prevent deformation; it is recommended to lay it flat to dry or place it in a mesh bag. When ironing, use a low temperature and cover with a damp cloth to protect the fiber structure.

Avoid exposing knitwear to direct sunlight, as this can damage its luster and elasticity, and even cause color changes. It is recommended to air dry in the shade, placing the knitwear in a well-ventilated, dry place and laying it flat as much as possible to maintain its original shape and prevent deformation.

If possible, it is best to place the knitwear in a mesh bag to air dry in the shade to ensure its shape is properly preserved.
